Art Statement
I have always been very interested in 3D modeling, virtual reality, and video design. The project I love most is from the BFA final exhibition called "Welcome to Folkloric World". The background and design elements of this project are based on Japanese folk legends, ancient buildings such as Torii, Kabuki, and modern Japanese anime. Although I know that the monsters are not real, I am still curious about the story behind the monsters. Many monsters are derived from people's feelings. So, I think this is also the reason for their fascinating existence. I think the most special thing about people is their rich feelings. The monsters have evolved because of people's desire, greed, love, and sadness. Monsters are not bad, on the contrary, they can reflect the bad situation that people were out of at the time or can represent many people. Monsters were a supernatural existence for people at that time. But with the continuous advancement of technology, fewer and fewer people will believe or be curious about their existence. I hope the monsters will not gradually disappear from people's sight, because the folklore of monsters is a really interesting culture. Thus, I created a folkloric world, sketched each model, and modeled the characters in Blender, these are shown in New Art City.
Also, I strive to fight with gender inequality issue. Sketching every frame in procreative and creating a promotional video in PR and AE for COWA (Community Of Women's Alliance), a charity dedicated to supporting women through counseling, is the first project in which I really made some meaningful behavior. Through my involvement in this project, I became acutely aware of the pervasive injustices that women face. This vicious cycle of inequality is perpetuated in issues such as the workplace, domestic violence, and social stigma. Through my work, I intend to shed light on persistent gender disparities and, more importantly, to inspire and empower women to overcome these challenges. I believe that my creative endeavors can help women make strides toward a more equitable and inclusive society by fostering their self-confidence and resilience.
Environmental and Sustainable Design also attracted me. More than 4 years of undergraduate experience in Northern California instilled in me a deep appreciation for the region’s natural beauty. Frequent visits to beaches and the warm Californian sunshine, combined with the gentle sea breeze, presented a stark contrast to the bustling urban landscape. My enduring love for the sea has been a lifelong passion that intimately intertwines with my creative work. During the Covid-19 pandemic, I recognized the fragility and beauty of marine ecosystems while acknowledging the need to protect our oceans. So, I focused on a billboard art project centered on marine conservation by Procreate. My reverence for nature and my artistic pursuits propel my ambition to employ design as a vehicle for environmental advocacy.
I am happy to share my artworks with you!
